Hey guys here are a few pictures of my male trimac, Id say hes about 8 inchs now, when I first got home for xmas he was the usual green color with a nice red under the front part of the throat. I have had really bad problems with alge blooms so iv been adding AlgaeFix from the company API. I did a water change yesterday and added this stuff and my fish has lost all color, aggression and seems to be very scared when I walk in the room. I have never had him freak out about me cleaning his tank so I am guessing its the aglaefix that I added yesterday. I didnt put any in today and i did another 25% water change again this morning. I just took this picture about 3 minutes ago. I just wanted to show you what his color is now its embarrissing and I am extremely upset right now. All water perameters are good so I know its not that. I am more mad at myself for making him look this way makes me feel like a rookie at keeping fish again :(.

If you guys have any ideas on what I can do to help the color don't be afraid to post im short on ideas!

-Jay

he's stressed
Agreed, that water looks very cloudy.

Start checking the water temp, parameters, and what not. Honestly bro you have other fish tanks that are already stable. I would completely drain the tank and bring water from them into that tank, then just top them off. He should be fine after that.

Don't feel like a Rookie, happens to all of us and ironicly my male trimac did something similar when I treated him with a couple teaspons of salt for a wond(Which I will never due with my fish again). Just change out and get rid of the water and give him some time.;)

How much water movement do you have?Algae fix will lower oxygen levels.I'd would do another water change and increase water movement at the surface

Iv tested all parameters and they are all fine. His color has returned today, he is just acting a little scared of me when I'm in the room. The reason the tank is cloudy is because of the algae spores that I have been trying to get rid of I don't know what do do to try and get rid of it some people have said to get a UV sterilizer but they cost like 100 dollars so ill just keep doing water changes every day to try and get rid of it
