So I went to check on my 150g as I do every day and my rhom is staring back as usual and everything is normal. My digital thermometer reads "L". Ok I check battery and then finger test the water. Then I notice the probe. On the bottom of the tank.

Now he didn't just rip the probe off, it was bit on the wire and cut the wire in 2 places the width of his mouth. I couldn't cut it better with wire cutter, it just amazes me when I see how sharp and powerful his jaws are.

Has your piranha bit through anything that made you step back and wonder about ever sticking your hand in their tank? What kind of piranha and how big?

Moved my shoal or red belly piranha 5x 5-6" and they managed to chew thru 2 nets, this being one, which was a pretty thick and sturdy net. No doubt piranhas teeth are the sharpest among fish!

I've had a few shredded nets.

plants, small nets, large nets, pond nets, air hose, tankmates

Mine went through a transport bag which was a 33g contractor bag in a 5g bucket. Also bit the net wish it was still that aggresive:(

Everything

im really nervous about having any more wires in the tank, i can only imagine if he decided to attacka piwerhead wire that was plugged in.

A green, Army-issue wool sock. I know, doesn't sound like much, right? Except for the fact that my hand and arm were in the sock at the time. Was cleaning some algae off the back of the tank, watching where my boys were at the time. They weren't "aggressive"...my worry was more about a defensive bite, which is what happened. Didn't account for one of them, he accidentally got cornered, scared, and took a bite out the back of my hand. Before I knew what had happened, two more hit the back of my arm, leaving holes about the size of my pinkie fingernail. Yes...it was a learning experience 20 years ago when I was a lot more foolish...and one I've not repeated since.
