So I have a perfectly fine "community" tank with a 6" Green Terror, 8" CK, Gold Nugget Pleco and 8" Ornate Pim Catfish. I should have been stopped there, but ever since I got into this hobby I wanted a jar. I knew it was a bad idea based on everything I read (sounded way too aggressive), but I was at my lfs and there he was. A great looking 6" jar. Next thing I know he is in my tank!!

Is everyone else going to end up dead?? Any shot of the rest of my guys surviving or should I plan on getting them out of there???

well I used to have a jar; it was fine until he hit around 8-9 inches. at 6" wont be long before he hits that size. I've read somewhere that they tend to get aggressive at around that size range. I say keep a good eye on it and hope for the best. I had to eventually get rid of mine.

it "could" work out. you never know. i will never try again as i've proved everyone right with my attempt. jardini's are just too agressive for a peaceful community. if u like that agression and anger in ur tank, by all means. but if ur like most of us, we need to see peace in order to have peace.

it probably aint gonna work out and your other fish will very probably die. maybe not in the first month(s) but in the end, as the jar gets bigger, the others will suffer. not a good idea in a comm tank.

Hmmm.. I'd keep an eye out on the 6" Green Terror also, as it has likely established some territory. Once the Jardini gets comfy though, it can get mean esp when it gets bigger.

I guess its a good excuse to get another tank. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like this set up will not work. Can't everyone just get along.........
