In the unlikely hood that your tank starts to leak? What preventative measures have you put into place to keep water from spreading all over the floors damaging everything...example carpets, mats, walls:eek:

This could be from tanks overflowing, filters leaking, seams in glass tanks failing

When my tank cracked i put a plastic garbage bag on the inside of the tank on the crack. It dramatically reduced the water flow until I grabbed a tub to catch the water.

Most people who know me have called me Mcgyver(sp) at one point or another

no direct preventative measures but i do know its always a good idea to check you household insurance to see if they cover a fish tank, they wont cover livestock though, as not all do.

"Cause you don't make a good enough impression for them to remember your real name? :D

:j/k:

I keep water sensors under everything, water level sensors in everything, and flow sensors on everything, so I'm notified of any problems.

On a rotating basic tanks get resealed about 1.5 - 2 yrs..

Maintenance is the key (most of the time ;)).

Oh and keep Karma on your side! :D

What type of sensors are you using, and do you have a place that I can get some info on them?

Also sensors are a good way to alert you if you are home, but what other preventative measures can be done? I know some one has some good info to share :)
