Tank drilled at top. roughly 5ft by 3ft. 3 oscars, 2 dempsies, clown knife and some cats. What kind of lighting should I use and what kind of heater. Havent gone this big before but got a great deal on craigslist. I know pics by saturday. Heard about canisters that also heat, any good? Hear nothing but good things about the FX5. Ebays got em for 200. Oh yeah, tanks also 21 deep. Custom made half inch glass. Any help would be nice. Want to get cycling by next weekend. Ill take some pics and try to post. Lovin the info here. I hope you're buying filter from value pet supplies....free shipping great prices. i bought a fluval 405 for my 75 from there great price shipped very fast got it for $160. For a tank that big I would guess you will need more than one heater.
For cycling if you have established tank or tanks just run filter with new one for a day or two to get bacteria going....no need to wait weeks..everyone makes this out to be a long process and there is no need for it.
