yepp. blood parrot is a hybrid between either a red devil x veija ? or midas x veija ?. its not yet fully undestood what mix actualy make them yet . but when ther little they are greyish black with a darker black stripe along ther body n its starts to peel away n the fish begins to turn red/orange/yellow. but they usually do this at a smaller size that the 1 you have .. its just a late peeler. nice though

It is a Blood Parrot. Blood Parrots go through a "peeling" process that Midas and Red Devils go through. When juveniles, they may be dark in color(such as the Blood parrot in your picture). Red Devils and Midas cichlids go through a peeling process with age where they lose their dark pigmentation and gain the orange/pink. Since Blood Parrots are hybrids(Midas X Vieja syn. X with whatever fish + line breeding) they have the "peeling" gene. That Blood parrot will peel as it ages. HTH's.
