Some people have asked me what I feed my pikes, and the answer is.....it depends on the pike...
I have 6 pikes at the moment(two pairs are bonded) , I have a pair of Lents, a pair of red Atabapos and two female johannas.
I had more before but pikes are tricky and I'm finally learning there needs( I had two male botox pikes which were supposed to be a male and female,(they were two males) but one got killed and I killed the other one out of spite of the hatred I have toward that american vendor),
I was lucky that all my pikes ate pellets from the start except for the red A. female......she would not even look at pellets(NLS).
She would watch her male eat them but she was not impressed......
So every third day I would throw in some silversides(frozen) and krill and she would go for that (so would every other fish).
Once I moved her and her mate into a 600 gal tank with some mid size viejas, things changed.......
Viejas are very fast and eat like pigs, first the pikes made it clear that they were the boss, which was fine but at feeding time the pikes had to go hard to get the food because the viejas are very quick at feeding time......
I still tried to feed her silversides and krill every 3 days but she had to be fast to get it.....now she finally started to eat pellets....lol

forgot to mention that all my fish eat peas......no matter what species
and I pick up large worms from the tackle shop from time to time as a treat but I wash them and make sure they look healthy the next day before I feed.....Years ago I used to feed beef heart but I don't anymore...
