I am thinking getting a Jardini arowana. I am planning to get a 150 or 180 G tank for one 3-5 inch small jardini and let it grow in it. The question I have are:

1) What kind of filter system should I get?
2) What equipment do I need?
3) How often do I need water change?

Anything else to get me started?

Thanks

Sump with a trickle system. You need a heater and optional air pump. Water changes weekly or you can do it daily or drip it's up to you. You need to check nitrates to know how often.

Substrate is your choice. Make sure you have lids arowana are crazy

Thanks. Is it ok to put a small fish in a large tank early or I need a smaller tank then move to larger tank?

Either two canisters (I run two fx on my 180)
Or a sump depending on your setup and finances.
If your putting a small jardini in a large tank that's fine but make sure you have surface cover floating plants real or fake depending on your light situation, this helps the jar gain confidence giving it a retreat.
Try and avoid any sharp branches or ornaments while your jar is small and skittish they get spooked easy until late there settled and confident so sharp objects cause damage when they blast into things when spooked.
Try feeding a wide range of foods and pellets from the off this will help you out in the long run.
Also make sure your tank has a tight lid with no gaps or you'll come home to find your fish on the carpet :(

Oh yes and wc's I do 50% per week but when small jars are involved 25% three times a week gets them growing like weeds ;)
