But

Just check in a thai fishing magazine found place populated with pbass in mountains.
in this region temp range from min 21c at sealevel to 15c at mountain level in Winter.

you said that you didnt want loss. if your keeping cichla i dont recommend keeping them in temps lower then 87 b/c they are very prone to iche and other disease at a smaller age. keeping cichla in high water temps that disease can not survive in is key. if your keeping them outside in a natural pond, you will have gradual temperature drops so you may be ok, but dont get me wrong any water them lower then 70 degree F i think you have some really slow cichla.

i have keeped cichla in a pond before they where fine but when the water droped to 20 deg c they didnt do so good so i would say try to keep it above that and they should be fine

Thx Boosten audi and nomis

im just going by experience with tanks.. bigger fish might not be as bad.. it will deff make them slow but small cichla can not tolerate it... no prob im glad to help
