I hear people asking about improving blue, red, and pearl but what makes black more distinguished? I love when fish have very dark and distinguished black flower marks. Is there any way to improve the black flowers?

Flowerlines come out or not come from mood. Whatever much they have.. If you want your fish dark and flat head, raise it in cold water.

Bro, you are usually spot on with your advice.. but that's so.. messed up lol.

@OP: The flowerline varies. It may turn pale when angered or stressed or it may get bolder. There's not much you can do to make it stand out more.. other than to just make sure the water is pristine and your fish is fed properly.

I like how some flowerhorns have dark black flowers that look like Asian characters but I don't think all do. Mine for example doesn't look that defined

Spiriluna...cichlid foods usually show the colors of fish that they will help.

If you notice the Hikari Gold is red and shows a lot of red fishes. The green pack shows a lot of blue cichlids. Blues are blacks I believe, a little google or keyword search on MFK will get what you need. PM RD., hehe Im sure he knows and he'll be glad you asked...he knows technical info on foods.
