i heard and read all kinds of things about how easy it is to get convicts to breed. i really hope i missed something or else i'm the worst fish keeper ever... i bought 10 cons 5 male 5 female...and just a short time later poof... i have 3 females and 0 males! this isnt addition this is subtraction, i went to school for a little while and can tell the difference. i will give you some info. i put them in a 30 gl to start off. a few days later a had to hospitalize my juvi gt in with them. shortly after i lost four cons, not eaten just dead. so i moved the remaining cons into a 10 gl by themselves. this morning i had 3 females and 1 male, so i split them up leaving what i thought was the least aggressive female in with the male. well he's gone now too so all i have left is girls. what did i do wrong. or what should i do different next time if i decide to try again. i really dont enjoy losing fish so i want to get it right.

It is very possible you got it wrong. Maybe two of them paired up and decided the others were a threat?
i would say get diffrent type of fish to breed you will never sell the convict babies as they are a dime a dozenand you will be stuck with hundredsthat you cant give away.you had to many males in the same tank with the females bro 1 male to 3 females works good
