background, substrate, genetics, water quality; overall health and type of foods present. Oh and also breeding colours potentially.
both to a slight degree... guatpoteguy was on point with genetics and water quality... also diet, mood, breeding will temporarily influence color
So hypothetically if the genetics are perfect and the water quality is perfect. Substrate and background color will have no affect on fish color?
No fish adapt to their surrounds if you have a dark background and black sand the fish will adapt to the black colors and blend in
Both. I personally think aside from genetics diet is the most influential on coloration.
