What internal filter should I buy? or hydro sponges?

Hi I was looking at the eheim aqua ball series, power line series, fluval u4, or other? Or should I run 2 sponges? I am too paranoid about my fire eels sneaking out to run a hob even if I make a custom cover. The tank is a 29g temporary tank for the eels and some smaller fishes.

I would just run sponge filters. Cheap and effective.

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning that way due to pure simplicity. More flow would be good though.
