i have been looking into getting a stingray but i am not sure which type to get. i am looking for freshwater and able to get along with other bottom fish. any suggestion would be nice.

I would say motoro but like he said^ your going to need the space.

motoro, leo, black daimond, are all same care, depend on your budget for me i started with motoro after that it get ugly spent more than you earn lol trying to upgrade the ray from motoro -mm-henlie-flower -tiger and later end up BD,,but love them all

Hopefully you have a bigger tank then the 55 gallon in your signature?

nope. i am going to be upgrading to a 150 soon though. what rays should i put in that?

It all depends on how much you r looking to spend and will you be upgrading the tank in the future and how many rays You are looking to hold.
Motoros 100-225 but will need larger tank in future
Mini marble Motoro 400-600 could keep one for life
Lepoldi 500-800 will need larger tank
Black diamond 1200-2800 depends on quality and will need larger tank
When you get your tank be ready to buy sand and a nice price of driftwood

Stingrays need more width then length but length is still really important..you will need at least 125G to start in but will increase to double the size. Motoro Stingray is your best bet for beginner ray.

a 150 may hold a male retic or hystric for life.. or may not. females get larger then males. motoros, BDs, marbles, ect all get much larger. CB if you can find them is always best. but imo you have alot more research to do, there is alot of info on the forum that will help. start with the stickies.

thanks that helps. i am going to research motoros. i already have nice sand. i took it from florida and i just got done cleaning it. it was alot of work but it looks nice. i am going to have a vid up soon if anybody wants to see how it worked out.
