never heard of a muda...

It beats me though, and yet the refered post didn't make things clearer....:confused::confused:

Maybe it is the name that some natives of somewhere in southamerica give to one P' spicies.

In the state of Tabasco in Mexico the Chelydra Serpentina is known as Chiquiguao and the Giant mexican musk turtle is known as guao, so if I just came up with this names you might never know what I were talking about....

Perhaps it is the same case with that "Muda" name...

http://www.opefe.com/eigenmanni.html and that came from a differene sientifc name then what the serrated was so id say either some common name or a mistaken id

the two are not mutually exclusive. Sometimes the natives have a common name for a fish that has a certain body type regardless of whether or not they're members of the same species. Pirambeba is used to descrive a lot of serrasalmus species.
