can any one help me under stand what filter feeding is i just bought an austrailian arowana and heard they are filter feeders but have know idea what it means please help me to understand
African Aro's are filter feeders, Austrailians aren't. Filter feeders swim with open mouths and consume tiny particles in the water. Paddlefish and African Aros are good examples of this.
Filter feeders pick tiny food out of the water rather than activly hunting down much bigger food items...
makes for some of the most difficult to keep aquarium fish of all.
