Details:

72 Gallon Bowfront FOWLR Tank:

-Voltains Lion Fish (lost colors, but gained back)
-Blue throat trigger (just died mysteriously)
-fox face (almost died laid flat but placed in quarentine, doing better)
-Green Bird Wrasse (beathing heavily)
-Maroon Clown (doing fine)

I started an air pump in the tank thinking not enough oxygen....any advice?

Nitrate: 10-20 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Ammonia: 0
Ph: 7.4 !!!!!!!!!!What should I do...it was never like this....I added ph liquid increaser

its the ph, its not mysterious at all. liquid buffers are only temporary solutions and will not aid in long term success.

Add some crushed coral to your sump or whatever filter you use. It's a natural buffer-er. Triggers as well as other predators are typically tough fkers, i dont know how you lost a snowflake and a trigger.

Test it again, let us know.

I tested the ph after emergency ph increaser...8.2 all fish breathing and swimming fine. The eel died, cause it jumped out of the tank 2 months ago. The trigger was definitely off guard. I have 3-4 inches of sand in the tank....should I add more sand? I have the fx5 but planning on getting a sump.

oopppsss sorry yeah forgot, no you definetely do not need to add more sand, though with that thick of a sand bed i would definetely add a group of nassarius snails to stir up that sand bed to keep nitrogen gas from building up

Yeah...i have two horse shoe crabs that do good job. I have like five nas snails....probably getting 15 more lol
