Ok so, im NOT having this problem in my 10 gallon grow tank. But in my 180 there seems to be white "things" floating around. They are all on the glass and it is all in the water. I just started doing daily water changes today. Its not ich as far as I can tell. It is foggiung up my tank a liuttle but it allmost looks like little sand particles ? I have a 4 ft 2 bulb t8 lighting on there so alge grows very easily. I have some pics. I dont know if water changes will get rid of this problem or not. But it is REALLY bugging me! If you have any idea what this is or how to get rid of it please let me know ! I cant get water tested for a few days sooo.

The net didnt work so well. I put some fine polisihing pads in the fx5. Also cleaned it out. Did not clean the tubs tho... Ill keep doing daily water changes.

Do you over feed? It could just be something as simple as a copepod bloom. Do any of the white specks appear to move or crawl on the glass?

Hello; If you do not have any bubblers or anther way that the surface film or the water is broken up, a film of protein can form on the surface. When the film is disturbed small whitish bits can float around in the tank for a while??

My canister filter is aimed up so I get water surface disturbance so The water gets oxygenated... Pics attached. I REALLY dont liek bubblers I might be getting a little 75 gal hang on back just to help with the right side of the tank cleaning. I feed shrimp and they are very messy eaters. I was thinking of maybe just getting a bala shark to help with that also.

I think its a cope bloom. I dont notic them crawling but my mother dumped a big thing of food in.... Thinking she was helping because I was away for a few days. Not knowing they dont eat cichlid pellets and left them in there....
