What is in your Bag?

Right now I rock a small, discreet Columbia lunch box...
- D60 or D70 + lens go in the main compartment
- Rocket blower, extra lens, and extra batteries in the enclosed thermos compartment
- Flash cards filling up all the little hidden pockets all over the place

When ever people comment on my bag it's always "what's for lunch?"
Works for me... no one needs to know I'm packing a $1000 meal with me.

After Christmas I'll need to add a second bag with all my flash gear... cables, SB-600, and a few AC slaves.

here's my late and lengthy reply for the bored and/or curious...

in 2005, i was a happy p&s owner/fishkeeper. when my father passed away late that year, i inherited a fair amount of film/dslr gear. he was an avid amateur photographer (translation: he spent just enough money to irritate my mother! :)).

none of his gear was really high-end stuff but it was more than enough for a novice to photography. so, i started my dslr journey with the following:

nikon d100
nikon af-s nikkor 24-85mm 1:3.5-4.5g
nikon af micro-nikkor 60mm f/2.8d
nikon af zoom-nikkor ed 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5d if
tamron af 28-300mm xr f/3.5-6.3 ld
nikon speedlight sb-50dx
velbon tripod
two tamrac bags (neither big enough to carry everything!)

over time as my experience and confidence grew, photography became more than just a desire to take better photos of my fish.
it became a hobby unto itself! i wanted to take photos of anything and everything! i added the following:

nikon af nikkor 50mm f/1.8d
nikon af-s vr zoom-nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8g if-ed
manfrotto monopod

i didn't upgrade to the d90 until xmas 2008:

nikon d90 kit came with following lenses:
nikon af-s dx vr 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6g
nikon af-s dx vr 55-200mm f/4-5.6ed
i gave my son the d100, 50mm, 18-55mm, 55-200mm, and the camera bag that came with the d90 kit.

Low budget collection:

Lowepro bag
Canon XS
Canon 18-55mm IS
Canon 35-80mm
Tamron AF70-300mm F4-5.6DI LD macro
Bower 2X teleconverter
Quantaray 24mm 2.8
Quantaray Tech-10 50mm 2.8 marco
(both Quantarays are old film versions, can't use anything but F2.8 on them)
318AF slave flash for triggering other slaves
Vivitar 550fd w/ diffuser
PT-04 transmitter/reciever
Various filters: UV, polarizer, 10Xmacro, wide angle, white balance, reverse adapter, cheap extension tubes

Got all the cheap crap I need, time to start saving for a real macro lens and speedlite. After that a new cam.
