I got a bunch of red tilapia feeders this morning. And in one of the bags was this. It is not a tilapia, it is very nice and shiny.

What is it?

Looks an awful lot like a plainer colored common goldfish to me.

Definitely. In fact I think it's a goldfish, I thought my comment implied that.

It might be a grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon Idella).

It is now in a small tank with a seven varied L numbers. I think that is the wrong place to keep it.

Looks like some type of Cyprinidae. Mouth is throwing me off to be a goldfish.
Agree one of the many Cyprinid species of South East Asia.
Maybe the genus Crossochelius or Cyclochelius or......Because
I'm not up on my Asian Cyprinids so its not in my bailiwick and
Very hard to tell, because they change quite a bit from juvies to adults

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's a goldfish either, though it does look very much like a cyprinid. The snout is rather peculiar. To me it looks more like something from the Cyclocheilichthys family as Duanes said. My Beardless barbs (Cyclocheilichthys apogon) are in the same family and some of the others in that genus have odd looking snouts too.

Not saying it's this one but you get the idea, they're all pretty similar. This one is Cyclocheilichthys lagleri by the way.
