i go to the expensive lfs that i dont usually go to, and saw this wierd goby that has been there forever for $15, when it is usually $25. it is 5-6" round shaped, maybe a 1.5" around. it is irredesent dul blue, with flashy red dots everywhere. it was fw acclimated, but active, unlike my fw acclimated dragon goby witch is lazy. I imagine it can pack away feeders. they were keeping it with there largest swordtails. they usualyy put feeders in all there tanks, and this tank had none.
what type of goby could this be? i have to choose between this big guy, and an 8" texas/manugese hybrid that looks amazing, and is an insane glass banger.

i looked at a few posts in the brackish forum, and am preety sure it is some type of sleeper goby, but not sure witch one

EASY. I see these all the time. An Aussie Native. Called a Purple Spotted Gudgeon. I can get 4-5" specimens for $12-$15. They have a nice mouth on them.

thats what it was labeled as. i am looking for things like scientific name, witch i think is gudergen gudergen (something like that). the main thing i want to know is if it can go with my 7.5" male blood parrot, and 5" red devil? or what? how well can they pack away feeders/how do they hunt?

I have one in with my discus/angels/clown loaches and it does fine with them. It mainly eats Omega One pellets, I have never seen it eat any market shrimp. He doesn't really do much, comes up eats his food and then lays on the rocks for a couple of hours.

I would be worried that your red devil would hurt him. They don't seem very aggressive.

Your RD would eventually kill and or eat him. I've seen them throw down small feeder guppies. But with not much of a killer instinct.

well what i am worried about is that if i put it my moms community tank, it would eat her buenos aires tetra, and chienese algea eaters, and stress her angels. will that happen?
also will it school/hang around my 10" dragon goby, sence they are both gobies? does it eat microparicles out of the gravel, or usually prefer the big stuff?
