Ok so I can't get any pics of him cuz he's the fastest fish I've ever seen and doesn't quit moving but he's about an inch and a half...uploadfromtaptalk1345507650316.jpguploadfromtaptalk1345507708862.jpguploadfromtaptalk1345507764050.jpg he came in at PetSmart as an otocinclus and he even looks like one but... he's a tiny little catfish! He has a high dorsal fin that's black with the typical black stripe that oto's have down his lateral line and a black triangle going into the tail... He's a tan color with some green irridescense on his belly and side when the lights just right

Thanks Joe! I forgot to mention that he has a basic predatory catfish profile, not a grazer, his mouth is straight out and looks like a mini channel cat would look...

neat lil guy, no clue what he is but i woulda grabbed him too!

Wayne the Pain is pretty close I would have to say... however he has features of both the meesi and marthae species... his dorsal has the black spot on it like the marthae and the black side stripe like the meesi plus some green irredescense, and it says they are pretty fast too which this guy is definitely that! I dunno which one it is!

Just wanted to say a guy on this site who works for Petsmart just gave me this fish... he said they got it in a shipment of oto's and noticed it was different right off so he segregated it and I tend to go by the 2 local Petsmarts to look for these exact kind of mix ups... Petsmart seems to make a lot of mistakes and the employees do what they can... to make it short I spotted him screaming around the tank and he told me I could have him so long as I found out what he was and brought him pics when its grown up!

I'd say better pics are needed. As of now, it may be one of the Pimelodidae, Heptapteridae, or even Bagridae (like Mystus), but the latter would have 8 barbels, including two nasal ones. The first two have only 6 barbels.

If the ID is important, there should be almost no harm to the fish if you caught it and put it in a photo-tank or some such to get good pics. The fishes of the guessed IDs are all quite hardy.

Yeah I will do that this evening, good idea!
