i came to my tank tonight and notice a pile of rocks in front of the tank and "hole" in the back. my flower horn is digging a hole and putting the rocks in a pile. what is he doing?!!??!?!

making a happy clean home perhaps? =0)

Are you guys serious you honestly don't know????????? Wow......All cichlids will dig some worse then others. But adult males are the worst because they are digging holes for a female to come around and lay her eggs in.

he even tore up my plant decor around him/her! watever lol

if REC is right i really want a female flower horn too!

If your fish doesnt move or play with pebbles, im afraid its not a flowerhorn. my FH would even pick up one big pebble and bang it to the glass. that what makes a flowerhorn a flowerhorn. :D

agreed my adult FH dug out the entire back right corner of my 75 and then proceeded to somehow tip the lava rock on its side for my female red devil to lay eggs on...FH's are strong especially them males.

your FH is just playing with the rocks...its normal for a FH to do that... :D
