What is my mystery fish?

Picked up this guy at a high quality LFS in my area. The order was supposed to be Rotkeil severum and we agreed that what he received wasn't one of those. I have a hand sized Rotkeil I got as a baby and it looked nothing like this. Anybody have any idea what he or she is?

It's hard to see any detail in those shots, which is necessary for proper ID. But my first impression was a young Cincelichthys bocourti. Here are a few shots of young ones to compare.

 
I can see that. We were thinking it was something in the ex-cichalasoma group. The place he orders from has very high quality fish of this type...I've gotten my vieja syns from him and he has some beautiful pearsei larger than my hand.
I've gotten a few rare severum, my vieja, honduran pearl convict, an EBJD, and a green texas, all beautiful fish. The vieja is getting aggressive though :D
