I had this rope-fish fish for about two monthes now and never knew its real name and after diong some cleaning in my 55 thought i would find out wat is it really is known as.

So i have two questions:

ID??

What should i feed him? I brought these waffer things but only the pleco will eat them. He must be eatting something cuz he is still living but i swear i only seen him eat one time and that was a small piece of night crawler about a month ago.

Erpetoichthys calabaricus common name ropefish, reedfish, snakefish some can be picky eaters most like worms can try small pieces of shrimp and other meaty foods
 
THANKS i just wanted to know cuz one of my friends came over and said its known as 'freedy' and i had never heard of that before so i decided to ask
 
mine will eat feeders, shrimp, blood worms, brine shrimp, black worms, and earth worms readily

he will reluctantly eat cichlid pellets, shrimp pellets, and krill pellets

one of mine wouldn't eat for 2 months when I first got it.

oh and one more thing... makes sure EVERY SINGLE space is covered or they WILL escape. Anything whatsoever. Nothing sucks more than waking up to a dried fish on the floor... especially because it is 100% your fault
 
Ive yet to have a Polypterid refuse HBH soft sinking pellets (may take a little time). Easiest thing to start off with is frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Bloodworms are like red crack to most fish :D
