i have a 3 inch red spotted gold severum i no it a gold severum but what else is it how was it breed and what with are theyb rare or hard to find ive only seen two near me befor and i bought one was 50 dollars a bad deal will it breed with my gold when there mature i hope the other gold is a female lol sorry for all the questions thankyou

From what I understand they are linebred from the gold severums for that coloration. Yes, they can breed with a gold severum.

This type of severum has many names: Red Spotted, Super Red Severum, Fire Red Severeum, Gold Severum..etc..

I bought 2 (possible males) from a pet store at 2-3inches each. A few weeks ago, I found 2 more in a gold severum tank. I bought two less red fish because they looked like females. Almost all....or so it seems, red spotted severums are males. Females are really really really hard to come by. I bought two less red fish because they looked liek females and since their brothers have a lot of red on them, I assume these females will carry the red gene in them.

I dont know the history of these guys, but I keep reading online that super red severums are line bred from gold svereums hence, there are more males per batch than females.

Mine is female and is redder then most males that I have seen. Both the females and males of the red spotted have long fins and worming around the face. You pretty much have to vent them to know what you've got.
