I gave all of my Africans away in preparations for my new FH (5" Golden Pearl Dragon). BTW, he is on his way to my house as we speak. Anyway, there was a 5-6" synondontis in that tank. Should I leave him with the FH? Or can I put a pleco in there? if so...what size should the bottom fella be. I guess what I am asking is what should I put in there to work the bottom? Or leave it alone?

herro...

How big is the tank?
Syn. is probably a bad idea. You can always try, but be ready to seperate them immediatly if too much damage is being done.
Plecos are always hit or miss with fh. Most cases adult Fh will kill a pleco but sometimes you can get away with it. All depends on personality and tank space.

Much will depend on the size of the tank. If you have a 100 plus tank you might be ok but as stated above be prepared to move one out. Most owners get the best colors out of there FH by keeping them alone in a tank with a pleco only. I have had varying luck with keeping multiple FHs together but only 1 gets the gorgeous colors and that will be the dominant fish.

Post some picts when you get a chance

i have a zz and i found someone selling red dragon fry, would i be able to put them in with my zz right now or would they be lunch??

I don't like putting in fry with the adults unless you have a ton of good hiding places and even then You need to be really careful. Better to keep them apart for now.

The tank is a 75g. He will be the only fish in the tank. I want him to be by himself and spoiled. I am going to drop a mirror in every so often. I saw a video on youtube with a FH circling the mirror, funny! It has been my experience to always have a bottom dude around. Maybe I dont need one?

No, was wondering about keeping a bottom dweller..synod or pleco with my FH in a 75g.
