Im setting up a breeder tank for my Convict pair with plans to use the fry as feeders. I would like to avoid having to set them up with their own filter and heaters and was wondering what were some good aqua pumps out there. I have a 100 gallon up and running and would like to pump water from the 100 gallon to the 29 gallon breeder and back. That way they share the same water supply, heaters, filter, etc. Im thinking about getting two Taam Rio Pluss 1100 Aqua Pumps but wanted to hear from someone who might have done this before.

So what u r saying is that u are going to set the 29 up under the tank in the same fashion u would a sump tank if so I don't think that is the best idea. First thing is that all u r going to do is pump debri from the smaller tank and fry from the breeder tank. I think it would be a lot easier to get a sponge filter and a 100-150 watt heater and be done with it. If u already have air supply just tee off and and add sponge filter.

Yes that's exactly what I was thinking. I see what you're saying. I have two 50 watt heaters and a filter now. I just need the sponge for the end of it so it doesn't suck up the fry. I just wanted to know if there was a way to make that work. It seemed like a good idea. Thanks for the advice.
