My plecos are nothing more than poop machines. Bad choice.

From my experience the best clean up crew is this guy:
Tropical-blue-crayfish-captive.jpg

Just got him for my Northern Snakehead tank who made a mess with the fish fillets I fed him last night. And the crayfish is doing a great job cleaning up the mess.

My Northern Snakehead is trying to bite the crayfish though..uh oh.

But he has left it alone at the moment.

Corydoras, Ancistrus are some of my best scavengers. As far as bigger fish, striped raphs and bullheads are both filthy but make up for it by how much they can find and eat laying on the bottom.

I would have to say it was my group of pictus catfish. Always swimming and hungry, day or night. Sadly they passed on. Now my group of Raphael's do a good job but never see them.

Bset clean up crew are my hands :D I have 14 hypostomus plecostomus but they make more mess than clean... But i like my amigos. :headbang2

One of the reasons I don't have any plecos...as nice as they are.

I must have some good filters. It's been well over 10 years since I've had stringy poop from any of my plecos but yes I do remember it from the 90's

It's been about that long since I've had a pleco and I remember the brown strings.

My 9" Gibbiceps thinks it's amusing to drape everything in the tank with its 24" strands, lol. Looks like I've never done a WC on my 75 meanwhile I do them twice a week, lol.
