A couple weeks ago, I bought a EBJD from a local pet store. There was a tank full of tiny ones less than 1", and one that was about 1.5". I bought the 1.5".

After buying it, I learned that they have a high mortality rate, and difficult to get larger. I feel I bought the healthiest and most likely to survive from this batch. So far, I have fed him bloodworms, flake food, and small red wigglers.

Is there anything in particular I can feed him to help insure he grows into a big healthy fish?

A high quality prepared food (flake, pellet) should be the staple. This will provide all the basic vitamins and nutrients needed. Stay away from "feeder fish" in general to avoid spreading any type of parasites. If you feel he needs a "treat" The red wigglers and frozen bloodworms are fine.

i just feed mine blood worms and flakes. hes grown over an inch in the past month

Feed them a lot of veggies, fine a spirulina flake if you can as well as thawed and shelled frozen peas 1 to 2 times a week sometimes 3. Freeze dried shrimps, frozen shrimps and bloodworms. My pellet of choice is NLS Thera + A. I feel that with the other stuff gives the best chance of the fish growing larger as far as diet. The rest is up to the fish and how good of stock it came from.

I just bought two as well, same size as yours. Im feeding them massivore..., what do u guys think?

You can try algae wafers, but its a hit or miss for cichlids. Mine never look at it but you can try Hikari Cichlid Excel, my GT loves it.
