I have a small mbu. I was wondering what ph is level is best for these fish. I wanted to get some holey rock for my tank but its limestone and I live in texas which already has insanely hard water. i have my tank a neautral with a little ph decrease added. just wanted to know what you thought was best.

thanks

Don't know what happened to my previous link, but it was just a MFK search. Here are some additional that might help also. BTW, you are meaning African mbu puffers right? If so here are some other links that seem to have reliable info (http://www.**************.com/forum/) (http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/274.htm) (http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/puf-mbu.htm) (http://www.myfishtank.net/forum/predatory-fish-discussion/37748-mbu-puffer-fish.html)

:ROFL:Small mbu, that's funny :ROFL:Must not be more than a mnth old, LOL. Looks like pH of 6.8-7.8 seems to be the general thought. Wow dc, looks like you are really gonna be a true to life ]V[FK real soon. These mbu are something else. What set-up are you or do you have for this soon to be MONSTER. :headbang2 I'd really like to see it (the puffer & the tank) cause I bet you've had to bust your a** to be ready for it. They're so coooool, :D sounds like a lot of wrk, but hey we all know anything worth haven isn't usally easy. Was he expensive, some outrageous prices mentioned out there. As far as the Holey rock, it might be to rough/jagged for them, looks like smooth, round edges are advised. Look forward to some pic's soon, while "he's"? still small. ;)

Cheers mate :):):)

Yeah, they cost a small fortune to feed, nevermind the fitration they need for the huge bioload these monsters produce. Huge veggie filters are recommended. Whatever the pH of your tapwater is fine.

Hmmm... the Fish Findex recommends a 2' wide tank for a 30" fish?
