i am not looking to get a cichlid, i already got my cichlids. i was just wondering. sorry if it seems stupid, but i believe the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked. so yep. I just thought people might want to post pix or whatever of their fav new world cichlids.
For me the Heros aka Severums are the best. For me they are the perfect fish. mine is so tame I can just about pet him. He comes when I call him haha Ok he comes when i put my hand near the water. He will eat from my hand too. They do snack on plants from time to time and that's the only down side to them. They also get pretty big. But the best all around NW cichild IMO. If I could only keep one kind of fish this is it. Enough said.
But the Festivum is inching it way up to my #2. They are not flashy or colourful but they are so darn cute and graceful.
WHY can't some one ask this question? He's newer then you so he missed the last time it was asked. Besides it's a nice question. Dose it matter if someone asked it a year ago or 3 months ago. Chill out and Be nice.

Right now I'd have to say mine is the Green Terror. It's colorful, has a ton of personality, and gets to a decently large but still manageable size.
i had never heard of a severum before thoose are sweet. i am a major fan of the oscars and jaguars. they are big, bad and very personable. my oscar would stick his head above water to get a piece of shrimp, sort of like the sharks do in the ocean. too bad he died=(
Anything Amphilophus. However you can never go wrong with cichlids. Especially with a large tank.
