What is the best setup for jewel cichlids

wat is the best tank set up for a pair of breeding jewel cichlids. anything special needed.

not for mine i bought them at a lfs for a buck each didnt know what they where till i checked here by that time they took over my 285 and spawned i had to take them out they where terrorizing all my fish and i put them in a 40 gal and in less that a month they spawned agin i think they are unstopable
so now i take the fry gow them out to be feeders
