What is the Big Difference???

I just set up and transfered my 150 to my new 300gl and filled the rest with new water (like a big water change).

Is there a big diff between Aquaria Lights and Lights from Home Depot (just an Example)?
My tank is 8ft long and I want either x2 3" Bulbs or x1 6' light. If I were to get a 18-24wt light fixture from Home Depot, would it be the same thing as a Light fixture from a Lfs?? Maybe just the actual light bulb from a Lfs or better yet from Home Depot.

What do you guys think?????????

Yeah a 3 inch bulb is probably not enough, even if you have 2. Get the six foot one.

I forget the number but you can get the florescent bulb equal to aquarium tubes at HD...

I've got two four footers from Menards inside the canopy for my 300. I bought some 6500k T-8 bulbs from Menards also.

The strips where on sale for $9.99 each and the bulbs were around $8.00 each. Less than $60 out the door.

Yes. Menards runs sales on 4' strips about every other month. They were on sale for $9.99 +tax each. Minus the bulbs of course.
