i am trying to find out the common name of the endlicheri bichir...so many sites have so many different names :nilly: ...thanks for any help...

I've always just seen them refered to as Endlicheri or endli.

"Saddled bichir" is the most common "common" name for P. endlicheri endlicheri, but most places just sell them as "endlicheri bichir."

In Manila they are reffered to as Tiger Giants! (MAybe a stupid LFS owner's marketing strategy....) I tried to tell them that it should be reffered to as Endlies but they keep on insisting that it's a Tiger giant! :screwy:

POintless to tell LFS the name is wrong on a fish... i was told(since we got it labeled as that we need to sell it as that name, we cant just go changing names on all the fish we think are different)

understood but WACK policy!

I agree. "Tiger Giant Dragon Fin" and "Banded Giant Dragon Fin" are some names I've seen as 'common names' for endlis. Totally pointless to correct the poor, misinformed LFS owners. They might even throw you the 'I-know-a-lot-more-about-fishes-than-you-do-coz-I'm-an-LFS-owner' look in the eye.

BTW, i saw some sites calling delhezis 'saddled bichirs' too.

polypterus endlicheri endlicheri is the official

We sell it as that name. Makes it easier to identify uncommon fish if you go with the scientific name.
