It is a forced induction on cars. Mostly fast cars unlike imports it actually serves a purpose and delivers extra HP by forcing more air into the engine. . Ie gt500
Superchargers are good for instant torque or quarter mile runs, turbos are very efficient in mpg and added top end, depends on the car! if the car already has incredible torque like a v10 then a turbo is going to help more then a supercharger but that all depends on so many factors and what the driver wants!
Glad someone knows a thing or two about cars around here, nice to meet you!
so F1 was talking about running 2 airlines into one for his sponge filter?
Yea it was just a metaphor, it definitely gives it a lot more air then that one air line did!
Sponge filter works both bio and mechanical, as said above with air powered SF its not as good for mechanical but still ok (more like a polisher), with a ph on it that thing will be awesome for mechanical and the same for bio, bb grows on it and water or gph is drawn thru the sponge so when the power goes out you still have gph going thru bb thus converting fish waste into nitrates! that is if you have a battery powered airpump on hand, after the hurricane hopefully everyone learned to have one for every tank as a backup! Many monster tanks survived days, even a week on battery operated air pumps, without them the water goes stale and depending on the stock, waste levels and a ton of other variables your fish have anywhere from 2-18 hours maybe less maybe more!
