What is the Green Growth?

Hello--

I am just curious what the hard, dark green growth is that is growing on one of my tank decorations? My algae eater cannot get it off, and I've tried with a bottle brush--but it is very hard and carpets the top of the structure.

It's not a bad thing. My little Tropheus eat it, but I am just curious what it is. It does not look or act like algae?

its some form of algae whatever type it is the standard way to get rid of it is to 1. do mroe water changes (less ntrates = no algae food) and 2 reduce light (no photosynthesis)

or it might be some sort of moss either way these will eventualy get rid of it

Thanks--I do regular water changes and I have live plants, so I can't cut down on light--but I'm not looking to get rid of it. It's not doing any harm.
