So wht will be the growth rate of this 3 incher.......
ThanX aloT

they may grow up to 2 feet in their first year! then slow down a bit could be 3' or more after 2 years! you should check the gar section, there are some thread documenting gator gar grow rate!

Average Captive Max Size:
36” – 48"

Average Captive Growth Rate:

Age: yoy
Expect rapid growth from this fish. They can easily reach 18" long (sometimes even more) within their first year.

Gator gars tend to put on length very quickly and it is normal for them to seem "lengthy" until they plateau at roughly 18". Following this, they start gaining mass and grow somewhat more exponentially.

Age: 2 years
Fish are believed get between 18” – 30” in their second year.

Age: 3 years and up
Growth rate slows from this point onward, but do not expect negligable growth from your gator gar from this point on.

This information is from the sticky in the gar forum found here:

Out of my gator gars some of them have are closer to 22-22" after the first year, so they can definitely grow faster. My oldest gars are still growing roughly a half inch per month and are currently around 3 years old.

Check in the gar section I have a thread documenting my alligator gars growth thus far. From 2" to 18" in 4 months and still growing quick.
