What Is the Meanest Channa?

Everyone know the giant redline takes the cake on this one. I was wondering what do you think is the Second MEANEST snakehead next to the giant redline? I'm think Pleuros are pretty mean.

They dont have to be big to be mean,its just that the damage they do is more obvious.asiaticas is pretty mean,the male often kill the female after spawning,ornatipinnis and harcourtbutleri are other meanies from what i hear.The pleuros are pretty mellow for a channa.

Wow...I didn't know there are that many mean channas out there. I think I didn't word the question correctly. I meant mean as in the way they hunt and how aggressive there are. Do all channas torpedo out of the water to feed? Pleuros are very territorial like a pack of wolves. They hunt and kill like a pack of wolves.

I think you are refering to predatory aggresion rather than territorial aggression. There are loads of them. Open water hunters like micro's would include Pleuro's, Diplogramma, Obscura, Most are ambush predators though.

im always surprised at how my micros swim. they are really like torpedos. they take really sharp turns and stuff. they are really fast. they get through 20-30 feeders in the space of three minutes

I don't know much about these guys but I heard they're also efficient hunters with speed.

They're fast and so graceful at turns. Watching they drift on the turns like japanese car drifting. These fish are very muscular fish and are very much like peacock bass.

I think efficient open water hunters was the term I was asking. Diplogramma is beautiful. I don't like watching ambush predators. They not different than wolfish and most common predators. I like open water hunters like ATF and armatus.
