I would like to pick up 2 beautiful 4.5 in midas/rd and breed them and raise some fry, they are already paired off..will they breed at 4-5 in?? and what size thank would i need for them just to breed and then take them back to the store, i just love to raise fish from fry and see what it turns out to be :D

Mine are breeding at about that size, the female is around 4" and the male is about 6". Make sure there are lots of hiding places for the female. Mine have gone through two spawns (and eaten the eggs both times, unfortunately), and the male seems to beat up on the female in between. Fortunately, the male is at least twice the girth of the female so it was easy to make caves that he can't fit into.

i would say so if you can get at least 125 in a month... just keep a divider on hand and it should alright

question: what do you plan on doing with the fry? i dont think that there would be too many lfs that would want to buy them...

the plan is to buy the pair from the lfs..breed them one, take them back, raise the fry and sell them to the lfs. and ill keep like 4 good looking ones until i figure out which one i want to keep lol
