Hey what is the minimum tank size for an arowana:confused:? i don't have one(yet) but i have a friend who wants to get one, so i thought i would ask.:D

180 gallons would be pushing it, but you may not be able to pull it off for live in there, but 210 would be highly suggested. aros can get about 30"+ so the need a wide tank so that can swim freely.

Read all of the link provided in the post above, lots of good info there.

All species of arowana need to be kept in a tank that has a length at least 3x that of the arowan and a width/depth at least equal to the aros length.

So a 180g 6x2x2' tank is only good for an arowana that is about 24" long.

Had my 18" Jar in a 125gal (standard). Was still OK, but would have needed a bigger tank in the near future.

I would agree with the guys saying 180+ gal. These fish have an elongated body shape as you well know. After a while they will have some trouble turning in a tank too small.
