Just wondering, because on all these sites I've seen Minum Tank Size: 50 gallons, or something around there. It said ropes could be kept in a 55 gallon. Why does it say this?

When I worked at a fish store we had some rope fish in a 20 gallon. Though, most of the time the tank at fish stores are temporarily, I dont see a problem with a small one in a 20 for the time being.. Most of the time they are lazy, but a tank atleast four times the fish's lengh should be suitable..

Also the same is with senegals and other bichirs. I would think They would need a bigger tank.

I'd say ropes and senegals are fine in a 55 for a long time but bigger is all ways better

Even though I don't think they are true Bichirs they are my favorite polys. There not quite eel not quite bichir body is so cool.
