I want to know the perfect size tank for shrimps. The tank should be able to house hundreds of shrimp. Each tank will have it's own species.

Bigger is better, but a good sized breeding tank would be a ten gallon. Won't take up much space, and can hold a lot of shrimp. If you want a spacier tank, a 20 would be great.

I want to start a shrimp project. I will need about 6 tanks. One for each species of shrimp. I will get some Red, Yellow, Green, Blue Tiger, and Crystal Red Shrimps. The one extra tank is just to separate the Crystal Red grades. I want to go with 20Gals, but their deepness is only 12inch. I would prefer 18inch depth. The 40Gals have 18inch depth, but I feel it will be a waste putting shrimp in a 40. I will use sponge filters in them. Will the 20Gals be enough to house say 100 shrimp?

yes, about 10 adult shrimp per gallon. Maybe 29g tanks would be better for you. I prefer 30g tanks.

i have my cherries in a 25 tall.. i think a 29 would be ideal and its where i plan to move them once i move some more fish around and free up a tank....
i had about 200-250 subadult-adults before their breeding slowed down..

Can you really house 200 shrimps in a 25Gal? If so, I might just get a couple 20Gals 24"x12"x16". I just want enough shrimps to maybe sell, trade, and/or use some as feeders.

with shrimp, bottom area is more important than swimming room of course. I'm not sure how readily available they are now, but years ago I used to see long tanks in 20 gal size. I think they were 20s.......... anyways
