Ok so I have r/o water, and i have bought some R/O right.

Can any one tell me how much to use? The bottle says to use X amount for discus, x amount for betta, and x amount for goldfish.

I have none of these fish, I just want the water to have enough buffering (KH) to keep the pH stable, and enough menerals(GH) to keep the fish healthy.

if your not gonna try and help
just don't post man

That's a bad way to start things off. I would have to ask a mod to ban this guy, post haste.

You want the buffering capacity of your tank a little on the high side. This will help keep your pH stable.

Using R/O water plus additives is complicated stuff. What have you been keeping your fish in up to this point???

Yeah, RO water has no dissolved magnesium or calcium ions left, leaving little for any buffer to work with. You should probably just use tap water and treat it.

huh? im asking you for help, that why i posted.

Ok here is my problem. I have 1ppm Ammonia in my tap water, I have tried every chem know to man to get rid of it, and the best I can do is with multiple treatemnts over a couple days get it down to .25ppm. So I bought the r/o and it gives me 0ppm ammonia, and If i mix it with just tap i still end up with close to 1ppm ammonia, doing a 50/50 mix of ro and tap.

I can treat my water in the normal way I have been with a double dose of amquel+ over two days and get the ammonia to .25, then mix that with r/o water for almost 0ppm ammonia. If i have to do this I might as well not even bother using the r/o, with me putting in .25 ammonia every week when I do a WC I get a mini cycle every single week.

I just don't know what to do.

No, there was some guy talking trash on several threads that had posted right after you. He had nothing nice to say at all and the mods deleted him and all his threads. You're good to go!! ;)

Do you have well or city water?

That's a bit odd that you have ammonia in your tap water.

City.
all of Kansas City does. I bought "R/O" water from some outside water machine and it had .50, so I am guessing it was a scame and not tru "r/o" water.
