I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the smallest eartheater species is? Geo. or Satanoperca basically anything you would consider an eartheater.

Geophagus parnaibae is supposed to be the smallest of the genus at 3-4" though there are pics of them reaching 6" or so in the aquarium.

Satanoperca pappaterra is supposed to be the smallest of the Satan's perch at 6".

Though if you are talking about the entire Geophagine family, several apistos stay under an 1".

Geophagus parnaibae are pretty awesome looking also, i've never seen those available anywhere. Are they a difficult find? I can see myself ending up with 10 tanks just full of eartheaters, something about them i have always loved.

Gymnogeophagus in the Rhabdotus group stay very small, most wild fish are under 3", Ex-meridionalis rarely get bigger than 3" Ken
