Hey. I have two lungfish and are my absolute favorite. I have a semester of school to finish up, but plan on doing my best to give my guys a great set up. Right now both my South American and African lungfish are still quite small. I am trying to get them both bigger tanks ASAP. Don't worry they are in separate tanks.
I work at a pet store that only sells fish, and I know a lot of the + and - people experience and a lot of the bashing that can go around. I look to continuously educate myself and do the best I can for my fish. I know that big fish can easily be fed very large amounts of food and in a tank setting and can grow at quite amazing rates. Does any one know what the typical growth rate SHOULD BE.. for each of these lungfish species. I know that at a smaller size and unable to upgrade my tanks atm... I am more careful to feed them appropriate amounts, but still a good healthy amount and frequency to keep good body mass. I am very eager to get them into very large tanks and grow them up bigger. ... This might be confusing but if any one has anything to say about a logical frequency and proportion that is still a healthy amount let me know please :). or .. anything else any one has to say about these guys! :D hope to hear from you all soon!

I had my first african lungfish for 17 years fed him a handful of pellets once a day with feeders, shrimp, crayfish and nightcrawlers a few times a month. He grew quite fast till about 20" then slowed down. My new guy ive had a little over a year started at 7" and is easily 20" now. he is in a 150 by himself.
