What is the weight limit of Lowes styrofoam

I saw 1" thick styrofoam at lowes and wanted to know how much weight it could support for my tank. Has anyone put a large tank like 500+ gallons on top of this styrofoam
 
Some of that stuff compresses 10% at like ~9lbs per square inch.

8x3x3 500 G tank is about 288^2 inches. 8.43lb per gallon x 500 is 4200lbs

4200/288=14.6 or so. It would probably compress about 15% or so.

Just a quick run down. Would have to do a bit more research to be specific.

BTW. 1" would be super overkill IMO. probably only need 1/2" at maximum
 
Without doing any research to confirm numbers... I expect Pharaoh's estimations to be what I would expect...

I also completely agree that 1" is excessive...

I think styrofoam is rarely beneficial, but in the few cases it is, it's critical...

In applications where I feel it is beneficial, I typically use 1/8" foam then plywood then 1/8" foam...
