What is this? Aequidens Diadema?

I picked up this guy from a lfs and it just said Auquidens Species. He/She is about 9 inches long. I did some looking and it looks like a Aeguidens Diadema. Does this look right to you guys? Male or female? What do you know about the fish? I picked it up on an impusle buy for my 125 or 56 gallon for $19. Thanks.

Just measured him. He is almost exactly 8 inches, not 9.
 
Male or female? I am guessing male.
 
Congrats Troy! I literally watched that exact same fish for about 20 minutes yesterday. It's hands down the nicest and most well taken care of species of Aeguidens I've seen. I know little about them so I can't help sorry, I would just be quessing. Glad it went to a good home.
 
Appears to be Aequidens diadema, the cheek spot is too short to be metae or sp. Jenaro Herrera.
 
I have been eyeing him for awhile. At first the lady at the store said it was a true parrot and they wanted $50. That didn't seem right so I came back and he was still there, only reduced in price.
