What is it, will my ghost shrimp eat it, or how else do I get rid of it? Lol.
It doesn't look like hair or thread algae, it's got more 'mass' to it, and some pockets are growing on the substrate as well...

Any guesses? Not having much luck finding any info on Google either since I'm not sure what it's called...

Ok, cool, thanks! Will shrimp or Oto cats eat it? Hoping they might help speed up the process...
Boiled that particular driftwood piece 4 or 5 times total (had to flip it upside down twice just to try to get it all) so I was hoping to avoid any issues... Still have some minor tannin leakage...
The other piece has some growth on it, but it looks more like thread algae...

If it's just a whitish colored growth, it's pretty common on new driftwood. I had a piece that grew the same stuff on it, and it probably took a month or so to go away. I took the piece out each water change and scrubbed it clean outside of the tank. It would grow back but did eventually stop, and hasn't come back at all since.
