Looks like a "Chinese" algae eater. They have a golden variety.

I vote golden Chinese algae eater too looks upset- was he recently moved or is there salt in your water? Mine gets black patches whe he is stressed and really hates being caught or moved ;)

I've had mine 6 yrs now they get really big like 10" and will get more aggressive as they grow, and has killed all other bottom feeders I have tried to keep with him. Best tank cleaner ever though only algae in my tank is on the hood where he can't reach

Golden CAE, they can be aggressive towards to slow moving fish and clumsy fish.

No I have no done anything to him except bring him home from the pet store 2 weeks ago.. And petsmart said they were simease algea eaters..

I have them in a planted tank where I plan to have angle fish or Discus... Will they be problematic towards any of these.. Also right now they are currently in with neon tetras
